Life After Game Of Thrones: 10 Great Series You Can Watch (Part II)

In the previous post we spoke about:

  • Chernobyl – HBO – First season
  • The Society – Netflix – First season
  • Black Mirror – Netflix – Fifth season
  • The Handmaid’s Tale – Hulu – Third season
  • Big Little Lies – HBO – Second Season

All great options, but, now and not least our last 5 suggestions:

6. Dark – Netflix – Second Season

Dark, Netflix’s first German production, was one of the biggest surprises of 2017… The drama, suspense and science fiction series was compared at the time with Stranger Things.

However, to be fair, we have to say that it goes beyond on a story of time travel that puts at the center Jonas, a young man who lost his father after a suicide and who must live with the burden of not knowing his reasons.

And so, with the death of his father, a confused time line begins in which Jonas discovers that they have the ability to travel in time without the possibility of altering anything, but only to guide themselves to the same destination.

7. Stranger Things – Netflix – Third Season

Stranger Things was also a streaming platform phenomenon thanks to its cast and the story about a group of children who must rescue their friend from a parallel universe trying to reach ours.

And so, Eleven came to us, a girl with telepathic powers helps them bring Will back, but not without first experiencing certain dangers both in the Upside Down and in the immediate reality they live in.

In the first two seasons we knew all the elements that are part of this and now, with the third, there is the closing of danger, but also of many personal and love problems …

8. Money Heist – Netflix – Part Three

Spain has surprised us with several productions, and Money Heist with its arrival at Netflix was no exception.

Here we met the Professor, an extremely intelligent man who plans the biggest theft in the country’s history.

In this way, he recruits a group of thieves to take the “Fábrica Nacional de Moneda” and produce millions of notes.

During the first two parts, we saw the development of the plan, the arrival of characters and how they committed the assault, not without losing sight of the personal intrigues and romances that were created.

Now, for the third installment, since they escaped and are enjoying the money, begins the pursuit of the main characters, especially The Professor, who escaped with the detective of the case, and Tokyo with his partner Rio.

9. The Crown – Netflix – Third season without release date

This is one of Netflix’s most mysterious productions for 2019. The Crown has presented us with two seasons, the personal life of Elizabeth II, Queen of England, but not just her mandate, but aspects of her personal and social life that has captured a precise number of viewers.

In the early seasons we saw Elizabeth in her marriage to Philip and the problems they went through according to the latter’s infidelities towards the queen and her “impossible” separation.

Now, without knowing many details, Elizabeth must face other things like the relationships of her son Charles and the imminent arrival of Diana to the crown as one of the most popular princesses and loved by the British people, even more than some royal members.

As we mentioned, not much is known about the development of the story, but about the actors who are now part of the cast such as Olivia Colman as Isabel, Helena Bonham Carter as Margaret, Gillian Anderson as Margaret Tatcher, Emma Corrin as Diana and more.

10. Watchmen – HBO – First season without release date

We have a very fixed idea of what it means and represents to be a superhero.

We think of them as noble people who live for society and keep it safe from threats far beyond their physical capabilities, above all.

However, there must always be a counterpart, and we are not necessarily talking about villains, but human superheroes who make mistakes, are selfish, and do not always serve the community.

An interesting film related to this was Zack Snyder’s Watchmen 2009. And now, a series comes to HBO based on these same characters and world.

Little is known about it, but what we are sure of is that these individuals are treated as if they were criminals, starring in a hunt that no longer distinguishes who is who.

Remember Rorschach’s mask? Well, here it appears to command a kind of paramilitary group that will begin with violence.

In Watchmen, great actors like Regina King, Jeremy Irons, Don Johnson, Jean Smart, Tim Blake Nelson, Louis Gossett Jr., Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Hong Chau, Andrew Howard, Tom Mison, Frances Fisher, Jacob Ming-Trent, Sara Vickers, Dylan Schombing and James Wolk appear.
