Threats And Risks Of 5G Networks

New 5G connectivity networks carry unprecedented risks to health, the environment, human, animal and plant life. Threats And Risks Of 5G Networks.

This being a fundamental aspect, which should not be allowed to expand, is only one of many problems involved in its development.

They are a crucial element of major – mostly negative – transformations in many aspects of the economic, political and social life of countries.

They will radically affect service production and international trade, and provide new forms of surveillance and control, all centralized in the hands of a few transnational corporations and some governments.

For both China and the United States, the expansion of 5G technology is a government policy, which is the background to the blockade of Huawei, as China is more advanced in its development.

Fifth generation of wireless communication network

The 5G networks, so called because they are the fifth generation of wireless communication networks, promise to be notably faster and with more capacity to transmit data (higher bandwidth), so they could cover a much larger number of connections in the same space.

The idea is to increase the download speed up to 20 times faster than with current 4G networks. The 5G technology is not only a development of the previous ones, it also changes the wave frequency with which it is transmitted.

It adds a millimeter wave frequency, much shorter than the previous ones and with a much higher density. As its range is significantly smaller, in order for it to replace existing networks and expand its potential, it would be necessary to install a huge number of short range antennas, every 100 meters (10-12 houses) in urban areas.

These in turn will be connected to a dense network of thousands of low-altitude satellites, so their promoters assure that they could connect any area on the planet and that they will not suffer transmission cuts.

More connected devices

This ability to connect more devices to wireless networks will make a quantum leap to the internet of things, which refers to wireless connections between all kinds of industrial and domestic devices – from telephones, computers, screens, cameras and cars that see us, coffee machines, stoves, refrigerators, beds and other “smart” furniture, cars, health devices, all connected to our medical records, work, credit, education, consumer habits, free time activities, and so on.

An exponential multiplication of connectivity, surveillance, tracking and identification systems, framed in the so-called “intelligent cities”, with a multiplication of drones and unmanned vehicles for services, deliveries and surveillance, will also be possible in open environments or shopping malls, educational and public attention centers.

All this represents an invasion of spaces, minds and bodies as we could never have imagined before, being also an inexhaustible source of data about ourselves and the social body, to sell to insurance companies, medicines and many other goods, and even to political entities and electoral manipulation, as Sally Burch explains.

In addition, the exposure of people and all living beings to electromagnetic radiation will increase exponentially, an issue that is already pending with the existing communication networks.

On the latter, there are numerous studies showing the risks of radiation related to the use of mobile phones and WiFi. The Council of Europe, for example, stated since 2011 (EC resolution 1815), that the public should be informed about the risks, lower the level of permitted frequencies, limit wireless connections and replace them with wired connections in schools, libraries and public places, because the risk is greater for children.

Electromagnetic radiations produce cellular stress

A series of scientific studies show that these electromagnetic radiations produce cellular stress, genetic damage and damage to the reproductive system, attention and learning deficit, neurological disorders and a combination of several factors, potentially cancer.

The orientation systems of birds, bees, ants, frogs, among other animals that have been studied also intervene. Katie Singer, author of the book “Electronic Silent Spring” gives an account of several of these studies, also on impacts on humans.

However, the dense millimeter microwave network and electromagnetic radiation layer to which the massive installation of 5G technology networks would expose us is unprecedented.

Both for the type of waves, the increase in the number of transmitting and receiving devices, for the continuity and assiduity of use, for the satellite network to communicate with each other and for the project of global expansion to all corners of the planet.

For all these reasons, a group of doctors and scientists from several countries began an international call (an emergency appeal to the governments of the world by scientists, doctors, environmental organizations and others) addressed to the United Nations, with reference to several studies, to stop the deployment of these networks.

It is urgent to know and broaden the debate, there is too much at stake.
