If we take that average and apply it to the 30.2 million small businesses in the United States, there are nearly 400 million incoming calls per day, including take-out calls, restaurant reservations, product availability questions, and more.

These numbers led that team to create CallJoy, a cloud-based, intelligent virtual assistant whose mission is to automate and thus improve customer service.

Google explains that with this assistant “small businesses have access to the same customer service options that have historically only been available to large corporations.

Initial configuration is Quick and Easy.

To begin with, once they sign up for service, companies first have to perform the initial configuration that is quick and easy.

Then they will receive a local phone number, which will be the number for customers to call and be served by CallJoy.

This assistant will start blocking spam calls and will only take calls from customers who are the important ones after all.

When a customer calls, CallJoy receives it with a personalized message and provides basic business information, including hours of operation, address and other information deemed necessary by the company.

In the event that the customer calls to place an order or for example to reserve a table in a restaurant, at the end of the call, CallJoy will send a text message with a URL.

If the calling customer wants to complete a task that can be done online, such as placing an order to take away or booking an appointment, CallJoy’s virtual agent will send the customer an SMS text message with a URL.

The service will also record calls and transcribe them for quality reasons, something that will allow business owners to tag and search through conversations by topic.

In this first stage U.S. business owners can register to access the service early and for $39 per month.
