How to take part in this challenge?
Being part of this challenge is really easy. Social media users can pick any photo of theirs, which was shot ten years back. Then they will have to select a picture which was taken this year or in the past year 2018 if not many pictures were taken at the start of the year. Then both pictures have to be kept side by side and posted. The picture can be posted with the #10YearChallenge in Instagram and on Facebook.
The aim of the challenge is to show the photos, the one taken presently and the one taken ten years ago. Ultimately the challenge is to show how much a person has changed in ten years or even how a person has maintained themselves without age affecting them.

When looking into the start of the challenge, like the other similar challenges posted in social media, users have no clue as to who started it first and where it began from. Many people say that the ‘Facebook Memories’ feature might have something to do with it. Since it shows the past photos as throwback once in a while, this challenge might have emerged. There were even some backlashes stating that this sets an unrealistic beauty standard among the present generation.
