Step 2: Refrigerate it
Additionally, ensuring that vegetables, fruits, and other edible items are thoroughly washed before cooking can be extremely useful.
Some vegetables can be blanched beforehand to kill the germs and bacteria present in them.
Storing cooked meals in airtight containers in the fridge can also be of great help.

Once you’re done with the meal, ensure that you keep the leftovers in the fridge as soon as they’ve cooled down.
This ensures that they stay fresh until the next time you decide to consume them. Don’t keep anything in the fridge for more than 3 days.

Expiry dates are printed on packed food items for a reason.
Even if something looks as good as fresh or if it smells as if it is okay, you can’t be 100% certain that something isn’t going on internally.
